I live a very 'connected' life, my laptop - a trusty Sony Vaio - is pretty much the whole of my business - granted there are IBM Domino servers sitting in a bomb shelter somewhere out West, but the laptop is my window on the business. However, even though it is fairly light, I am getting fed up with hefting it around the place. By now, I should be able to do everything on my phone, or my watch or some other clever technical solution. That's what we were promised ages ago by the technical gods, so the question is "are we there yet"?
It seems as though I am not the only person wondering about it this week. James Kendrick and Kevin Tofel, over at JKOnTheRun, have been complaining about the very same problem. You can read their thoughts here
Well, I feel it is time for some experiments, so over the Summer I am going to assemble some new technology: software and hardware, to find out just how 'light' I can go and still run the business.
My first purchase is going to be the Nokia E70 phone. Sadly it is nowhere near as cool as an iPhone, but I think it might do the job.
