The Washington Post has an interesting article about the huge advances in internet access which countries such as Japan and Korea enjoy.

It is always useful to look for 'lead users' when thinking about new products/services as it is often the case that someone somewhere is already doing what you want to try, and you can learn a huge amount from them.
