I am fascinated by the ways in which we get ourselves mentally stuck. Assumptions build upon one another and suddenly you are boxed in. I was thinking about that this morning when I came across this Hand-powered chainsaw.I have a lot of trees in my back garden. It would probably be a good idea to thin them out a bit, or at least lop off a number of their branches. The trouble is that it just seems like too much work.
It wasn't until I saw the saw that I suddenly realised I had been trapped by the assumption that to cut off a branch I actually had to be close enough to touch it!
Time to start really identifying and letting go of assumptions.
