Innovative ideas and ideas about innovation

Why don't we think of grass in the same way we think of hair?
I was looking at my garden today and wondering about grass. In particular about the similarities between grass and hair. They both grow, quite fast actually, and they both need to be cut - otherwise the neighbours complain. However, there is a big difference in the way that we treat them.
Most people put some thought into how their hair is cut, but we don't really do the same with our grass - other than perhaps trying to get some stripes in it. Is there an opportunity here? Could we have coloured grass? Would anyone like to have their grass permed? Or, is it possible that my front garden would look better if it had a gelled Mohican?
I feel some experiments coming on

what a brilliant idea! there must be a whole range of black and decker tools and products to be invented so that we might do our "grass with class"
I rather fancy a front lawn with a centre parting!
I wonder also if there is some crossover from the Lawn care industry to the haircare industry? Strimmers?
